Manifest is Growing Up

Manifest is Growing Up

Today I get to announce some really exciting changes to Manifest New Media. The most obvious change is that we’ve updated our web site, but the real news is far more fundamental than that. As you may have already inferred from the previous sentence, Manifest is no longer a one-man show.

I’ve expanded the Manifest workforce by partnering with some very reliable and talented freelancers, people with whom I’ve been doing an increasing amount of work over the last few months.

This is the perfect solution to the problem of how best to grow Manifest. It enables me to put together a team based on a project’s specific requirements, without the enormous overheads associated with employing a permanent workforce large enough to provide such flexibility.

What does this mean for Manifest’s clients?

The flexibility of this approach is excellent news for Manifest’s clients. I’ve already mentioned the first big advantage – hand-picked teams, based on a project’s requirements. We can now offer a much wider range of expertise than I could ever have claimed personally, and ensure that each project gets the best people for the job in hand.

On top of that, this expansion also means that our ability to take on a project is no longer dictated by my schedule (and ability to forego sleep for extended periods of time).

Coping with growing pains

This is something I’ve been working towards for quite a while, and several of Manifest’s clients have already experienced a taster of the new setup, with universally positive results.

The big ongoing challenge will be delivering a consistent, reliable service as Manifest expands beyond my personal work ethics and habits. This is the problem that has been occupying a lot of my time of late, hence my recent obsession with the E-Myth, systems and processes, and defining my (and Manifest’s) USP.

Doubtless there will be a few mis-steps along the way, but so far things are going very well, and I’m confident that we’ve got a very strong foundation on which to build.

The only remaining issue is whether I should begin to write everything in the first person plural. We fancy not.
